Docent-led Tour
A Day of Discovery at Descanso Gardens: Beyond the Bell Office of Outdoor and Environmental Education, in collaboration with the Descanso Gardens Education Office, proudly offers A Day of Discovery at Descanso Gardens. Students will investigate several of California’s native habitats; draw correlations between living and non-living components, and record observations in journals provided. Highlights include:
- Earth and Life Science core curriculum (data driven content)
- Inquiry Cycle based
- Field Study focus promotes Cooperative Learning, Instructional Conversation, and Academic Language Development
- Opportunity for students to connect classroom curriculum to the natural environment – brings classroom learning into the real world!
- Builds background knowledge
